[Update] TouchWiz for F480

Posted by Samsung Flash Wiki Admin at 04:58 PM on August 15, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Update on Status of TouchWiz for F480 etc.

Samsung are finalising the ideas

Hey Everyone

Samsung have replied to my comment about the new TouchWiz being available for all older TouchWiz phones and it looks like there may be some progress.

This is the comment Samsung had posted:

admin says: April 8, 2009 at 5:19 pm Thankyou for your interest in Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. At this time, Samsung is still finalizing the details of its Mobile Connected Apps program and which phones will support those features. Please be sure to checkback for updates.

So cross your fingers everyone

I know its a late blog post as the comment was April, but just keep hoping it will be available for all your F480, Eternity, Behold etc. users.

Thanks

Jordan

Donate and Support Samsung Flash Wiki

Show you care...

As you may be aware Samsung Flash Wiki currently gets over 4,000 Unique visitors each week (That's over 16,000 Uniques per month!) However all of these visitors come at a cost.

There is something called bandwidth, which basically is the limit per month of the usage of our site. Each time someone visits and uses our site, it uses something called bandwidth depending on what is shown. Bandwidth is an expensive thing, so when it gets used up, we have to pay to get more, to allow everyone to continue using the site, otherwise it becomes temporarily unavailable.

Donating also can give us extra funds to get you EXCLUSIVE firmware. This means you will be able to get firmwares nobody else has.

No money donated will go towards profits of Samsung Flash Wiki or dgenmedia network. All money will be spent on either the site, firmwares or anything else that will benefit our members.

Ways to donate...

1. Donate via PayPal

  • Any amount can be given, so you can donate anything you want from 0p to £100. We are grateful for every penny you give us!
2. Get your phone unlocked!
  • This method is more convenient for the users as you can get your phone unlocked (meaning it can be used on any network), but at the same time, every sale will generate $5 for Samsung Flash Wiki.

Thank you if you do donate.

We are very grateful, and if you do, please let us know ;)

F48IXEIF3 [Updated]

Posted by Samsung Flash Wiki Admin at 04:41 PM on June 27, 2009 Comments comments (0)

F48IXEIF3

Firmware for June 2009 (F480i)

Now available on the SGH-F480 Tocco page.

Click here to go there now

If you have tried the firmware, please edit the page to let everyone know of new features or special attributes.

This firmware has not been tested by Samsung Flash Wiki.

We are not sure why the firmware has an I in the name.

Speculation on this firmware are as follows:

  • It may be leaked firmware for an upcoming F480i model to be released by Samsung
  • It may be the New TouchWiz UI coming soon to the F480 (which is why Multiloader is not supporting it for the time time being.
  • It may be just a fake firmware thats in circulation (however this could be very unlikely)

To the first point, evidence can be drawn from the FCC article - Please Click Here

Comments are available for this blog post so if you have something to say, or ask, then please feel free to do so! smile

YOU CAN NOT INSTALL THIS FIRMWARE AS MULTILOADER DOES NOT SUPPORT IT YET.

Thanks

New TouchWiz UI for F480 (Soon?)

Posted by Samsung Flash Wiki Admin at 02:24 PM on June 16, 2009 Comments comments (1)

New TouchWiz UI may be coming to the F480

Thanks to Chowchilla_Charlie (Mike)

This member has posted on the forum an email regarding the new touchwiz coming to the F480.

The thread is as follows:

----

Hi, emailed samsung recently about putting the new UI thats on thetocco lite and ultra onto the regular tocco... surprisingly i got a reply.

"With regard to your email, there are no plans as of yet to update the original Tocco F480 with the Touchwiz software package, but it may be something that can be done in the near future, i would just advise you to keep an eye on www.samsungmobile for more details.I hope this has been of some assistance to you. If you do have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards
Tim"

----

This shows that Samsung may be offering the new TouchWiz available on the recently produced Tocco Lite and the Tocco Ultra, on to the original Tocco (F480)

We hope to see this comes in to effect!

Thanks for the post Mike! big grin

If you are a member at our forum, you can see the post under the 3G Models category smile
